Class 9 — AI Problem Solver
Main goal: BUILD WITH AI. Understand how AI is used inside real applications. Emphasis: AI + Creativity. Learning outcomes — explain, at a basic level, how large language models, tokens, context windows and embeddings work; call an AI model through an API; build a custom AI assistant with instructions, knowledge and tools; design a simple automated workflow that connects apps and AI together. Skills learned: LLM literacy, API basics, assistant design, no-code automation.

M1 — How Large Language Models Work 4 hrs
- What an LLM is and how it predicts the next word
- Tokens: how text gets broken into pieces an AI can process
- Context windows: why AI "forgets" things outside a limit
- Embeddings, at a basic conceptual level: turning meaning into numbers
M2 — Models and APIs 4 hrs
- What an API is, in plain terms
- The difference between an AI product (like a chatbot app) and the model behind it
- Making a first simple API call at a basic level, with guidance
M3 — Building Custom AI Assistants 5 hrs
- Custom instructions: telling an assistant how to behave
- Giving an assistant knowledge or context to draw on
- Connecting tools to an assistant so it can do more than chat
M4 — AI Quiz and FAQ Bots 5 hrs
- Designing an assistant for one specific job
- Structuring information so an assistant can find the right answer
- Testing a bot's answers for accuracy before trusting it
M5 — Introduction to Automation 4 hrs
- What automation means: triggers and actions
- Connecting two apps so one action starts another
- Where AI fits into an automated workflow
M6 — Automation Tools: Zapier and Make 5 hrs
- Building a simple automated workflow using a no-code tool
- Adding an AI step into a workflow (e.g. summarizing an incoming form response)
- Testing and troubleshooting a workflow
M7 — AI for Research and Study Workflows 4 hrs
- Using AI to speed up research without skipping fact-checking
- Organizing notes and sources with AI help
- Planning a project timeline with AI
M8 — Capstone: AI-Powered Website 5 hrs
- Planning a simple website around one of your earlier AI tools
- Embedding an assistant, quiz generator, or FAQ bot into a page
Capstone project
Activity: Tokens and context limits
Use a tokenizer tool to see how a sentence splits into tokens, and test what happens when a conversation grows past the context limit. Upload screenshots and a short note on what you observed.
